Doggies

Eddie is now 14 weeks old. I can't believe we've had him for almost 2 months! He is getting so big and is very smart! I have taught him to sit, lay down, speak, shake and his newest trick is to roll over. We've been working on that one for a few weeks but Saturday night he finally got it! I am working on the command "leave it" right now with him. He does okay unless he gets really close to what ever he is suppose to leave. Then he can't resist it and has to eat it. LOL

I'm taking Morgan (our 10 yr old lab) to the vet today at 2pm. She has a growth on her tail that was about pea size and in the last two weeks has grown to about golf ball size...maybe a little smaller. So, she will be getting her yearly rabies shot and having the growth checked out. I really hope it isn't anything serious. We will all be very upset if it is!

Pictures

We took the kids to a park in Edmond a couple of weeks ago and took some pictures. I got several good ones of them. I wish we would have gotten a family one but hopefully this summer we can get one. They got a little grouchy towards the end but all in all they did pretty good!

Yuck!

I really hate being sick to my stomach! I started some new meds for my endometriosis and they are not agreeing with me at all! I spent 2 hours in the middle of the night last night throwing up! I will take them a couple more days but if I continue being nauseated then I'm going to have to call my dr and have him change the meds.

Appliances

Our freezer went out last night. The fridge part is working but it is leaking water everywhere. So, hopefully I can find a cheap fridge somewhere and soon! My washer is also going out on me. It makes and awful sound when it is spinning and it is also leaking water out from the bottom of it. But, a fridge is more important so it will come first.

CLasses

I am teaching a couple of classes at Just 4 Keeps in May...aside from the usual calendar and Upperkutz classes. The first one is on May 2nd (National Scrapbook Day.) You can choose between a cat or dog board book, I will be using the new Bo Bunny pet line on them. I'll be teaching how to use your file or sander on it to give your edges a nice clean finish.

Then, on May 16th I will be teaching a class on making an explosion box. I will be using the Bo Bunny "It's My Party" paper line. If you haven't seen one of these explosion boxes you really need too come up to Just 4 Keeps and take a peek at it! It is really neat. It opens up and has lots of different places to put pictures and would make a cute birthday gift. It was a lot of fun making it and I know you would have a great time too!

Happy Easter! & Happy Birthdays

We dyed eggs yesterday afternoon. The kids (and myself) had fun doing them...we always do. The Easter Bunny stopped by and delivered a lot of little goodies for the kids. I'm a bad mom and didn't get any pictures other then the ones of dying eggs....oops! I tried getting one of Eddie playing with a plastic egg but he wouldn't sit still long enough.
Yesterday was my 35th birthday. I already got my present...Eddie. I spent the day at the ball field for Kenzie's games. They ended up with 2nd in the preseason tournament. After dying eggs Jim and I went to dinner and then made a trip to Target. It was overall a good day.
Today is Jim's 35th birthday. He got a game for the Wii and has been busy playing it most of the day. It's been a lazy day around here. I am fixing chicken and veggie lasagna for dinner...hope it's good! I am also making blue berry muffins instead of a cake...we like muffins better. I can't wait to have one!

Out of control

I just can't seem to get my house under control. I can clean and in just a few hours it is destroyed again. I can't keep up with it and I am starting to feel over whelmed with it all. A few weeks ago I went gungho and cleaned like a mad woman. I cleaned out all the kids rooms and freecycled so much stuff. It felt really good but now those rooms are trashed again. I just can't seem to stay on top of everything. I need to come up with a schedule for all the house work and stick to it!

Up!

Eddie's ears are up! The very tips are still "floppy" but they should go up soon. He is just so darn cute! Just wish we could get him to not bite so hard! He got Kayleigh good yesterday! I know it is all part of being a puppy but he doesn't seem to be improving at all in that area. He seems to be pretty much paper trained. We are keeping the puppy pad right by the back door so hopefully he will learn to go to the back door to go out.

T-Ball

Kayleigh's first t-ball game was last night. They lost but all the girls seemed to be having fun. Kayleigh played in right field and center field last night. Today she played center field and stood there as a ball went right by her. LOL She got to bat once last night and hit and got to first base. When she was at bat today she struck out. I think it was cause she was too close to the tee and also she keeps taking a step forward when she swings. She is having fun and that is all the matters!

Meet my Edward!

Yes, that's right! I named our new baby Edward...Eddie for short. He is a 7 week old Pembroke Welsh Corgi. We went and picked him up last night and have all fallen in love with him. He is doing really good with house training and has been going to the front door when he needs to pee. Morgan (our older lab) isn't too fond of him but I'm sure she will get use to having a baby around. We are crate training him and he did soooo good last night! I put him to bed at 1am this morning (I'm a night owl) and he cried just a bit and then went to sleep. We didn't hear another sound from him until 8 this morning! He has been trained to use a doggy door but we don't have one. I don't think we will be getting one either because I don't want the little "gifts" that the cats bring to us in the house instead of on the porch! I think he is the perfect addition to our family!

Stitches!

Well, dh and the kids were at Kenzie's softball practice tonight and some balls went over the fence (6ft) so Dakota decided to climb over and get them. On his way back over he slipped and got caught on the fence...by his nose! We spent 3 hours in the ER and he got 6 stiches. It ripped his nostril all the way thru! The dr said it should heal okay as long as he doesn't mess with it and we keep vitamin e oil on it after the stitches come out. He was sent home on antibiotics and lortab. Hopefully the lortab doesn't make him sick like it does me!

Got it!

I got Twilight! :) I tried staying up and watching it last night when I got home from work but I just couldn't do it. Probably a good thing since I had to get up and work this morning. I came home from work and watched it though.

After watching the movie Jim and I got busy and finished up the kids rooms. I still have Kelsie's closet to do but it won't be bad. I have a big bag of baby clothes I am giving my sister in law Shonda...hopefully she has a girl cause most of it is pink! There are a couple of blankets that I am freecycling and then 2 tubs of toys I am going to gt rid of. I will move the file cabinet into my closet and then I will move all her hang up clothes to her closet. She is going to be so excited to have her room all organized. I need to hang up a couple of pictures in there but then I will be finished! Dakota's room is finished too. The only thing left to do in Kay and Kenzie's room is to rehang a shelf. I ended up getting rid of 12 bags of clothes (adult and kids) and 3 bags of bedding on freecycle. It feels so good to get all of that out of my house! Hopefully I can stay on top of the house now!

I heart Edward!

In less then 24 hours I will have my copy of Twilight in my hands!!!! I really can't wait. I have never loved a movie so much. I know people think I'm crazy for liking this movie so much. But, I just have to say, this is my Harry Potter. I didn't care for that one but Twilight I LOVE! I've seen this movie about 10 times already and I'm sure I will watch it at least 100 more. LOL I will be at Walmart as soon after midnight as I can. I am working the crop at Just 4 Keeps and on my way home I am stopping to get my movie.
Edward here I come! :)

Reading

I finally sat down this weekend and read the first book in the Stephanie Plum series by Janet Evanovich. It is called One for the Money. I've started the second one and am really enjoying them. I'm not sure how many are in the series but I know at least 17. So, these should keep me busy for the next couple of years. LOL

Catch up time!

Kayleigh is such a little ham! She loves having her picture taken. Everytime she sees the camera she asks to have her picture taken. Mommy doesn't mind taking her picture though-she's such a good subject to be shooting!

Softball has started! Kenzie is pitching again this year. She is pretty excited about it. Kayleigh is starting t-ball! Can you believe it? How did she get big enough to play t-ball? Dakota and Kelsie both don't want anything to do with ball. I'm pretty sad that Dakota doesn't want to play baseball. But, if he doesn't want to play we aren't going to make him.

American Idol

I really like this season so far. I like how they are doing different groups to get down to the final 12. My ultimate favorite is Danny. He is the one that lost his wofe jsut a few weeks before the show started. I also liked Alexis from the first night. Both her and Danny got thru and so did the oil dude. I liked him but I didn't think he would get thru.

Tonight my favs were Matt G that sang the Man in the Mirror song. I also liked the red head, I think her name is Alison. My favorite for the night though was Adam Lambert. I really like him. But, I don't think he can beat Danny in my books! :)

Sick

I've been sick since last Friday. It started with a itchy/scratchy throat. Saturday I woke up and my right eye was all red and bloodshot. It was starting to hurt and by that night it was really bothering me. It felt like someone was sticking pins into it! It was also very sensitive to the light. Sunday I spent all day sleeping. We went to the in laws to get Kayleigh and I slept all the way there, while we were there and all the way home. We got home and I went back to sleep. I also ran fever off and on Saturday thru Monday. I was feeling better Monday so I didn't go to the dr but when I woke up Tuesday feeling worse I decided it was time to go. I have a sinus infection and an eye infection. 3 prescriptions and $40 later and I am feeling a little better. My vision is still blurry in my right eye but not as bad as it was. I really hope I am feeling 100% by Saturday cause we are cropping up at J4K all evening! Jennifer and I are teaching our calendar class in the morning. I am driving home for Kenzie's basketball game and then going back to the store until midnight. I am really looking forward to a night away from the house and kids! LOL

Long week!

This is going to be a very long week! Jim is gone out of town for work and I really hate being here without him. The kids did fine last night so I'm hoping tonight will go well also. My mother in law is going to stay a couple of days to help me out with the kids while I work and my mom will be here Thursday while I work. Jim is suppose to be home Thursday night and it can't get here fast enough!

Kenzie had a basketball game on Valentine's Day Jim and I knew we wouldn't be able to go to dinner so we went Friday night instead. My neice Kayla babysat for us (thank you Kayla!) It was so nice to enjoy dinner without kids bickering and fighting! I love my kids dearly but sometimes mom and dad need a couple hours together with out the kids! LOL

I ended up getting a Quickutz Silhouette for Valentine's. If you don't know what it is it is a digital cutter that you hook up to your computer and it will cut out any font you have on your computer! It also comes with some cool images to cut out. I downloaded a few new ones from their site too...and they are only $1.99 each! Just 4 Keeps has them on sale for a REALLY great price today too!!!

Kitty update

Our new kitty now has a name...Jet. We also have adopted his sister...Ebony. She is pretty skinny but I'm sure she will fill out with all the food she is eating! I gotta get them both to the vet for shots and to see when I can get them fixed.

It's over!

Affair of the Heart is finally over! It went really good too! Just 4 Keeps got their name out there and that was great! We will be going back in October so look for us then!

Here at home Kelsie was sick last week. She ended up with strep but the antibiotics kicked it this time thankfully. Kayleigh was also on antibiotics for a bad ear infection. Both are much better now though! I'm trying to get my house back in order. I haven't really been home much the last two weeks...have worked 15 days straight now. So, needless to say, my house is a pit and my laundry is piled up! I feel like I am never going to get it all done!

Kelsie's birthday!

I can't believe she is 12! Where has the time gone? I've been pretty emotional the last week or so. I've been thinking about when she was in the hospital in September...all the "what ifs". I know I shouldn't think about what could have happened but I can't help it. The last few months could have been VERY different for our family. I am so thankful for this little girl (even when she is being a total turd bucket!) I can't imagine my life without her. We are taking her shopping tonight and out to eat to celebrate. She is wanting an IPod Nano but she can't decide which color. I'm also going to buy her a little make up (just powder, lip gloss and some blush.) I really can't believe she is 12!

Cards for Children's

Here are the cards that I made for Children's Hospital.

Ice storm

We have been hit with an ice storm here in Oklahoma. It started Monday morning and has finally stopped. We have been home for two days from work and school. It has been nice being able to stay in my pjs all day! I've been working on some scrappy stuff and am about finished with my layout for the Feb calendar class at J4K. Once it is finished I am going to make a few cards for the kids at Children's Hospital. J4K is having a campaign to make Valentine's Day cards for the kiddos at the hospital. Here is a little more info on it...

Imagine love replacing germs and sickness in The air at The children’s hospital at ou medical center in celebration of Valentine’s Day. Imagine love replacing frowns and sadness. From the little art room in the Jimmy Everest Center for Cancer and Blood Disorders in Children…. On January 20th, patients and volunteers will launch a “love is in the air campaign” lasting through February 14, 2009. Our goal is to spread a feeling of love in the air by doing acts of kindness for others (doctors, nurses, employees, visitors, valet, etc.) We hope our campaign will catch on throughout the clinics, into the halls of the hospital and throughout the ou health sciences center to create an environment of love. A blog will be available on the Oklahoma children’s cancer association’s website www.helpkidsfightcancer.org to share your acts of kindness. Groups in Oklahoma city, surrounding areas and hopefully around the world will be participating with Jimmy Everest cancer patients by doing acts of kindness and encouraging others to pass it on. We invite you to help us make a difference this valentine’s day by joining our campaign. Together we can prove that “love is in the air.”

If you would like to join in and make a card or two you can drop them off at Just 4 Keeps or mail them to us (if you need the address just email me.)

New baby!

Looks like we have a new kitty! The kids found him outside yesterday and we couldn't just let him freeze to death so we brought him in. He is very loveable and lets us know when he needs to go potty (cries really loud!) He doesn't have a name yet but I'm sure it won't take long for the kids to name him. I guess I need to make a call to the vet and get him an appt to get his shots and to get him fixed. He looks just like our older cat Salem and if he wasn't fixed I would swear he was the daddy! LOL

The new kitty has a sibling but it ran off and now we can't find it. The kids said it was really skinny. I really hope it shows up and nothing has happened to it. If we do find it we will find it a new home too.

Layouts...

Here are a few layouts that I have finished in the last few months.

Pictures

Here is the ABC canvas that I finished this morning. I really like it and really hope it sells!

Long time no write!

Well, it has been several months since I have blogged. Life is just so busy and it is the last thing on my mind these days. I will try to update the best that I can...

Not much happened over the summer, just going to the lake and spending time with the in laws and having fun as a family. Kayleigh turned 4 in July and Dakota turned 8 in September. Also in September Kelsie got very sick. She started out with strep and ended up in ICU at Children's on life support with two types of pneumonia. She is a true miracle to us!

In October I had major dental work done. I had ALL of my teeth pulled and got dentures. That is seriously the worst pain I have ever felt! Still to this day I have pain in my jaw and I still can't eat normally. I have lost a total of 23lbs since then though and that is good.

Santa brought us a Wii for CHristmas. It is the best thing we have ever gotten! We play it just about every day...I am addicted to guitar hero! We are now thinking of getting Rock Band too.

I am going to start posting some scrappy/craft things that I have been making for work at Just 4 Keeps. We are getting ready for Affair of the Heart in Feb. I've made several mini albums, layout kits and my favorite is this abc canvas. I am very proud of it! I have also joined the design team at J4K this month. I will be helping Jen with Upperkutz and a calendar class. You should join us if you can...it's going to be a lot of fun!

I will post pictures in a little bit. :)
