Kelsie's birthday!

I can't believe she is 12! Where has the time gone? I've been pretty emotional the last week or so. I've been thinking about when she was in the hospital in September...all the "what ifs". I know I shouldn't think about what could have happened but I can't help it. The last few months could have been VERY different for our family. I am so thankful for this little girl (even when she is being a total turd bucket!) I can't imagine my life without her. We are taking her shopping tonight and out to eat to celebrate. She is wanting an IPod Nano but she can't decide which color. I'm also going to buy her a little make up (just powder, lip gloss and some blush.) I really can't believe she is 12!

Cards for Children's

Here are the cards that I made for Children's Hospital.

Ice storm

We have been hit with an ice storm here in Oklahoma. It started Monday morning and has finally stopped. We have been home for two days from work and school. It has been nice being able to stay in my pjs all day! I've been working on some scrappy stuff and am about finished with my layout for the Feb calendar class at J4K. Once it is finished I am going to make a few cards for the kids at Children's Hospital. J4K is having a campaign to make Valentine's Day cards for the kiddos at the hospital. Here is a little more info on it...

Imagine love replacing germs and sickness in The air at The children’s hospital at ou medical center in celebration of Valentine’s Day. Imagine love replacing frowns and sadness. From the little art room in the Jimmy Everest Center for Cancer and Blood Disorders in Children…. On January 20th, patients and volunteers will launch a “love is in the air campaign” lasting through February 14, 2009. Our goal is to spread a feeling of love in the air by doing acts of kindness for others (doctors, nurses, employees, visitors, valet, etc.) We hope our campaign will catch on throughout the clinics, into the halls of the hospital and throughout the ou health sciences center to create an environment of love. A blog will be available on the Oklahoma children’s cancer association’s website www.helpkidsfightcancer.org to share your acts of kindness. Groups in Oklahoma city, surrounding areas and hopefully around the world will be participating with Jimmy Everest cancer patients by doing acts of kindness and encouraging others to pass it on. We invite you to help us make a difference this valentine’s day by joining our campaign. Together we can prove that “love is in the air.”

If you would like to join in and make a card or two you can drop them off at Just 4 Keeps or mail them to us (if you need the address just email me.)

New baby!

Looks like we have a new kitty! The kids found him outside yesterday and we couldn't just let him freeze to death so we brought him in. He is very loveable and lets us know when he needs to go potty (cries really loud!) He doesn't have a name yet but I'm sure it won't take long for the kids to name him. I guess I need to make a call to the vet and get him an appt to get his shots and to get him fixed. He looks just like our older cat Salem and if he wasn't fixed I would swear he was the daddy! LOL

The new kitty has a sibling but it ran off and now we can't find it. The kids said it was really skinny. I really hope it shows up and nothing has happened to it. If we do find it we will find it a new home too.

Layouts...

Here are a few layouts that I have finished in the last few months.

Here is the ABC canvas that I finished this morning. I really like it and really hope it sells!

Long time no write!

Well, it has been several months since I have blogged. Life is just so busy and it is the last thing on my mind these days. I will try to update the best that I can...

Not much happened over the summer, just going to the lake and spending time with the in laws and having fun as a family. Kayleigh turned 4 in July and Dakota turned 8 in September. Also in September Kelsie got very sick. She started out with strep and ended up in ICU at Children's on life support with two types of pneumonia. She is a true miracle to us!

In October I had major dental work done. I had ALL of my teeth pulled and got dentures. That is seriously the worst pain I have ever felt! Still to this day I have pain in my jaw and I still can't eat normally. I have lost a total of 23lbs since then though and that is good.

Santa brought us a Wii for CHristmas. It is the best thing we have ever gotten! We play it just about every day...I am addicted to guitar hero! We are now thinking of getting Rock Band too.

I am going to start posting some scrappy/craft things that I have been making for work at Just 4 Keeps. We are getting ready for Affair of the Heart in Feb. I've made several mini albums, layout kits and my favorite is this abc canvas. I am very proud of it! I have also joined the design team at J4K this month. I will be helping Jen with Upperkutz and a calendar class. You should join us if you can...it's going to be a lot of fun!

I will post pictures in a little bit. :)
